Background Checks


The health and safety of all our league participants are our number one priority. Managers and Coach Eligibles are subjected to a mandatory background check performed through SCAA.

Background Checks are now sent directly from our provider JDP.  All coaches must register with SCAA on our website and volunteer for the position they will be holding.  The SCAA Safety Manager will send JDP a report with your contact information and JDP will then contact you with the link to your background check application.

Upon completion of your background check both you and SCAA will be notified of any findings and your approval or restriction from coaching will be added to your account on the SCAA website.

SCAA Background Check Procedures



All Team Managers & Coach Eligibles at SCAA must complete an SCAA Background Check yearly in order to coach a team at SCAA. A background checked individual must be present at all SCAA Team Events (practices, games, etc) for the event to take place.

SCAA uses the PONY-sanctioned background check provider JDP, Inc.

All Team Managers & Coach Eligibles at the beginning of the season will get an email from JDP & the SCAA Safety Manager to their registered email listed on their SCAA Account as reported. 

Coaches that receive an email for a background check are required complete it within 24-48 hours.

Emails should NOT be forwarded/shared as each link is person specific.

Step 1:  Click the link in the email you received from JDP/SCAA.



Step 2:  Click "Continue" to start the process.



STEP 3:  Click "I agree" and then "Continue"



Step 4:  Accept FCRA Disclosure Notice by clicking "Continue"



Step 5:  Accept FCRA Disclosure #2 by clicking "Continue"



Step 6: Read the information and click "Continue"



Step 7: Select you are seeking employment in "Virginia" and select your state that you reside in.



Step 8:   Check "I Agree" and fill out your information, then click "Sign Acknowledgement".



Step 9: Fill out your information and click "Next".


Step 10: Enter your current address.  If you lived in your current address less than one (1) you may also enter a Previous Address by clicking "+Previous Address" button.  Then click "Next".


Step 11: Verify your information is correct and select "Submit".



Step 12:  You will get a confirmation where you can print the documents.



Step 13: You should receive an email stating you have completed the Background Check.
