SCAA COVID Policy Update


 

SCAA COVID Policy

as of 10/11/2021

  • UPDATE:   If an SCAA Member/Player/Parent/Visitor is in contact with a COVID positive person or a person/family member who is quarantining due to contact with COVID positive person, the SCAA Member/Player/Parent/Visitor must quarantine for 10 days and not attend any SCAA event, game, or practice, or until a negative test result is produced.  If the SCAA Member/Player/Parent/Visitor is vaccinated, they may return after 5 days provided they have no symptoms.

  • All COVID issues among the Membership should be reported to their team Manager immediately.

  • Team Manager must inform their Division’s Field Director immediately and Field Director should inform the Division's Player Agent, their respective VP (Baseball/Softball) and SCAA President upon receipt.

  • If an SCAA Member/Player/Parent/Visitor tests positive for COVID, the SCAA Member/Player/Parent/Visitor must quarantine and not attend any SCAA event, game, or practice for 10 days after symptoms have subsided or until a negative test result is produced.

  •  If an SCAA Member/Player/Parent/Visitor is showing symptoms of COVID but has not been tested, the SCAA Member/Player/Parent/Visitor should not attend any SCAA event, game, or practice for 10 days after symptoms have subsided or until a negative test result is produced. 

  • Masks are not required for players, coaches, or spectators at this time, but are recommended.

  • Dugouts/benches may be used by 2 SCAA players at a time and players should try to social distance as much as possible.  All other players should stow their gear on the outside of the fence down the foul lines and social distance as much as possible.  SCAA Field Directors have tagged minimum spacing on the fences with a marker.

  •  There are to be no in-game and post-game handshakes/smacks between teams and are to perform a tip of the cap instead.

  • It is recommended that Spectators should social distance as much as possible.

  • There is no sharing of equipment (bats, helmets, gloves), water bottles, etc.

  • Snacks may be provided by teams but all snacks must be in factory sealed individually packaged servings and may not be shared.

  • SCAA follows all guidance from the CDC, VDH, and City of Chesapeake Health Department.  These policies may change abruptly and without advanced notice upon recommendations of the CDC, VDH, and CHD.
