SCAA Umpires
OVERVIEW
SCAA provides umpires for various divisions in our Baseball Programs and we fully staff our Softball Programs.
For Baseball, SCAA Umpires man games in Pinto and Mustang divisions, and occasionally Bronco and the upper divisions.
For Softball, SCAA Umpires man all games from Pinto thru Colt divisions.
SCAA Umpires go through varied training in classroom and on field prior to the season.
MISSION
SCAA Umpires are to uphold the honor and dignity of the profession in all interactions with athletes, coaches, league administrators, colleagues, spectators, and the public while exhibiting neutrality, respect, sensitivity, professionalism, discretion and tactfulness.
SCAA Umpires are required to master both the rules of the game and the mechanics necessary to enforce the rules, and shall exercise authority in an impartial, firm and controlled manner.
VALUES
Umpires at Southern Chesapeake Athletic Association (SCAA) athletic events are participants in the development of all our athletes.
As such, SCAA Umpires must exercise a high level of self-discipline, independence and responsibility. The SCAA Umpire Code of Conduct establishes guidelines for ethical standards of conduct for all SCAA Umpires.
By accepting a position, all our SCAA Umpires agree to our Code of Conduct.
