SCAA offers opportunities for all children at all levels of ability to play, grow and enjoy the game of baseball. This program is designed for kids at all ages and all levels of ability. The Champions Division was developed to offer children of all abilities a chance to play and has a long history within PONY.
MISSION OF THE CHAMPIONS DIVISION:
“To provide every child, regardless of special needs, the opportunity to participate in America’s favorite pastime of baseball and softball."
We provide an inclusive opportunity to play baseball for children of differing abilities within our community. So, we ALL get to play at SCAA!
Players will join coaches and volunteers each week on Sunday afternoons at the SCAA complex for an hour of baseball fun and development. The Champion program is customized to focus on the unique skills and abilities of the team members. Still, the structure will consist of skill-building and development for the first portion of the hour and then applying and refining those skills in a team scrimmage for the remainder of the time.
Southern Chesapeake Athletic Association's PONY Champions League provides the opportunity for children with special needs to pursue their dreams of team sports in America’s favorite pastime of baseball and softball. It is our goal to provide an environment that enhances the participants’ self-esteem, physical mobility, and embodies the spirit of teamwork and community.
Any individual ages 5 to 19 with a physical or intellectual challenge may participate. If an individual can participate in the traditional baseball or softball programs with reasonable accommodations they should do so.
Children ages 3 to 6 will play in our traditional Foal & Shetland tee ball divisions.
We ALL Can Play at SCAA!!
